Blueberry Crumble Oatmeal

Blueberry Crumble Oatmeal: Savory Sweet and Satisfying

This oatmeal is a delicious way to start the day. The crumble on top may seem like a lot when you add it, but once it is stirred in it makes the oatmeal perfectly sweet.

Blueberry Crumble Oatmeal

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup old fashioned rolled oats
  • 1 cup fat free milk
  • 1/3 cup frozen blueberries, thawed
  • 2 tablespoons light brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons all purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, cold

Directions:

  1. In a medium saucepan combine the oats and milk.
  2. Bring to a gently boil, stirring often, and reduce heat to low. Simmer for 10-15 minutes, stirring often, until the oatmeal is cooked and the milk is absorbed.
  3. Transfer oatmeal to a microwave safe bowl.
  4. In a small bowl combine the brown sugar, flour and cinnamon.
  5. Add in the cold butter and mash with a fork until it forms fine crumbs.
  6. Sprinkle the crumble over the oatmeal and microwave for 20-25 seconds.
Enjoy!!!

Notes:
This oatmeal can easily be doubled, tripled, quadrupled or more to serve the amount of people you need to.

Fresh fruit maybe substituted for frozen and you can substitute different berries for the blueberries.
