Cheesy Breadsticks

Cheesy Breadsticks: Savory Sweet and Satisfying

Super delicious breadsticks in a fun twist shape with lots of gooey cheese on top. Need I say more?!

Cheesy Breadsticks

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups warm water
  • 2 envelopes quick rise yeast
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted and divided
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons garlic powder
  • 1 1/2 cups grated parmesan
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Directions:

  1. In a glass measuring cup stir together the water, yeast and sugar. Set aside for about 5 minutes or until the mixture is foamy.
  2. In the bowl of a stand mixer, with the dough hook attached, add in the flour and salt. Turn mixer on low to incorporate the salt and flour together.
  3. With the mixer running pour in the yeast mixture. Drizzle in 4 tablespoons of the melted butter. Knead for 7 minutes, scraping sides of bowl if needed. Dough should be slightly sticky, when you touch it a small piece or two will stick to your fingers.
  4. Remove the dough, grease the bowl and return dough to bowl. Cover bowl with a clean kitchen towel and let rise for 30-45 or until doubled in size.
  5. Preheat oven to 425º F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silpat.
  6. Punch down the dough. Transfer dough to a lightly floured surface and roll out into a 24x12 inch rectangle. Cut into 40 strips, a pizza cutter works well for this.
  7. Twist two strips together to create a breadstick and place on prepared baking sheet.
  8. Cut breadsticks if needed to fit on baking sheet and place close together. Cover with same kitchen towel and let rise for 30 minutes. The breadsticks will almost be touching by now.
  9. Drizzle breadsticks with remaining melted butter, sprinkle with garlic powder and all of the cheeses.
  10. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until puffed up, hot and brown.
  11. Cool for 3-5 minutes.
Enjoy!!!
