Tex-Mex Bacon Cheeseburger
Ingredients:
Burger
- 8 slices turkey bacon
- 1 pound ground turkey
- 4 tablespoons grated onion
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons pureed chipotle in adobo sauce
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
Queso Sauce
- 3 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 2 tablespoons all purpose flour
- 1 cup milk
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 14 ounce can diced tomatoes with green chilies, well drained
Toppings
- 4 hamburger buns
- tomato slices
- pickled jalapeños
Directions:
- Cook bacon your desired way until crispy. Leave 4 slices whole and crumble 4 slices.
- In a large bowl combine ground turkey, crumbled bacon, grated onion, minced garlic, pureed chipotle peppers and Worcestershire sauce. Mix just until everything is combined.
- Form into 4 patties and cook your desired way.
- While the burgers are cooking, melt the butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat.
- Whisk in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes.
- Slowly whisk in the milk and cook stirring constantly until the mixture as thickened slightly.
- Add in the cheese and stir until completely melted.
- Stir in the drained tomatoes and remove from heat.
- Place a burger on the bottom half of a hamburger bun and top with desired amount of queso sauce.
- Top with one slice of bacon, tomato slices and pickled jalapeños.
- Place top half of bun on top.
