Spicy Hawaiian Burgers

Spicy Hawaiian Burgers: Savory Sweet and Satisfying

For years I have had problems finding some good turkey burger recipes. Lately, however, I have have found several really good turkey burger recipes. Now the problem is when I am in the mood for a burger which one do I make?

The flavorful burger and spicy cheese pairs so well with the sweet pineapple. This burger is a wonderfully delicious combination. Just look at all that melted cheese and sweet pineapple! Yummy!!!

Spicy Hawaiian Burgers

Ingredients:
  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 2 tablespoons low sodium soy sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika, divided
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder, divided
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 4 pineapple rings
  • 4 slices pepper jack cheese
Directions:
  1. Lightly mix ground turkey, soy sauce, 1/4 teaspoon paprika, 1/4 teaspoon chili powder, cumin, and garlic with your hands.
  2. Divide the turkey mixture into 4 even pieces and shape into 4 patties.
  3. Sprinkle the patties with the remaining paprika and chili powder.
  4. Refrigerate for about 30 minutes.
  5. Cook the burgers your desired way until completely cooked.
  6. During the last 1-2 minutes of cooking time top the burgers with a slice of cheese so it can melt.
  7. Also cook the pineapple on both sides for 1-2 minutes.
  8. Put the burger patties on the bottom bun, top with pineapple and then the top half of bun.
