Carbone's Garlic Bread

Carbone's Garlic Bread: Savory Sweet and Satisfying

I have never heard of the restaurant Carbone, but apparently they have a garlic bread that has been called by many the best garlic bread ever. The restaurant has locations in New York City and Las Vegas. Since I will probably never get to the restaurant I can enjoy the delicious bread at home and it sure is delicious.

Carbone's Garlic Bread: Savory Sweet and Satisfying

This bread is super easy. It only takes a few minutes to prepare and a few minutes to bake. I was a bit worried it would be too spicy for my youngest with a teaspoon of red pepper flakes, but it just had a subtle hint of spiciness and she thought it was great.

Carbone's Garlic Bread

Ingredients:

  • 12 ounce French baguette, sliced lengthwise
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 4 cloves garlic, smashed into a paste
  • black pepper, to taste
  • 1/3 cup grated parmesan cheese

Directions:

  1. Heat the broiler on high. Cover a baking sheet with aluminum foil.
  2. Place the baguette cut side up on the prepared baking sheet.
  3. In a small bowl, stir together the butter, olive oil, red pepper flakes, oregano, garlic and black pepper. Spread this mixture evenly over both sides of the baguette and sprinkle with parmesan cheese.
  4. Broil until golden and slightly crispy, about 2-3 minutes.
  5. Remove from the oven and cut into slices.
Enjoy!!!
