Making your own fajita season allows you to control what goes into the mix and how much. Want it spicier? Add more cayenne pepper and/or chili powder. Not a fan of cumin? Add less or leave it out. Plus you know exactly what is going into the seasoning mix.
Homemade Fajita Seasoning
Ingredients:
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 teaspoons chili powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
Directions:
- Stir everything together in a small bowl.
- Use immediately or store in an airtight container.
Enjoy!!!
Notes:
The original recipe called for 1 teaspoon salt, but I leave salt out of my seasoning mixes to help control sodium levels.
A packet of fajita seasoning is about 3 tablespoons.
