I love pasta! I am always looking for new recipes, new ways to enjoy my pasta. Sometimes I find recipes that are similar to one I always have, but the slight changes make me try the new recipe. I have this recipe, Sloppy Josseppi, that was found in my Nonnie's recipe collection. It is kind of similar to this recipe, but also different, different enough to try and keep.
This casserole is cheesy, comforting and one that my family always comes back for more of. An added bonus of this recipe is that you can prepare it in advance, refrigerate it and cook when needed. This will make it a dinner that can be ready in just over 30 minutes.

- 2- 8 ounce cans tomato sauce
- 8 ounces wide egg noodles
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup cottage cheese
- 4 ounces mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 4 ounces sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
Directions:
- Preheat the oven to 350º F. Lightly spray a 9x13 inch baking dish with cooking spray.
- In a large skillet, cook the ground turkey until completely cooked. Drain any liquid in the skillet.
- Stir in the garlic, pepper, oregano, onion flakes, Worcestershire sauce, sugar and tomato sauce. Bring the mixture to a simmer and simmer for 10-15 minutes.
- Cook the egg noodles according to the package directions and drain.
- In a large bowl, combine the cream cheese, sour cream and cottage cheese until smooth. Add in the cooked noodles and stir to mix. Spread into the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Spread the meat sauce over top of the noodles. Sprinkle the top of the casserole with the mozzarella and cheddar cheese.
- Bake uncovered for 30 minutes or until bubbly.
Enjoy!!!
Notes:
To make ahead, follow the directions through step 5. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and refrigerate. When ready to bake, remove the casserole from the refrigerator and allow to sit on the counter while the oven preheats. Bake as directed above.
