Seasoned Tater Tots: Savory Sweet and Satisfying

When I first came across the idea of seasoned tater tots, I fell in love. Tater tots on their own are already delicious, but the idea of adding seasonings takes them to the next level. I was so excited to try seasoned tater tots that sounded oh so good. 

Now for the problem with trying new recipes and having a food blog. The tater tots, were not good, not even a little bit good. So time to scratch that recipe and try a new one. Repeat this several more times and I still didn't have a winning recipe. My family was getting sick of trying seasoned tater tots and asked me to stop. I was getting tired of an idea that I had such high hopes for not working out. So I decided and asked my family to let me try one more recipe and then I was done (for awhile) even if they did not turn out.
 
Seasoned Tater Tots: Savory Sweet and Satisfying

I am not sure what made the difference with this recipe compared to all of the others, but I finally found a winning seasoned tater tot recipe. I can't even describe to you how happy I was that my last attempt worked out and not just worked out and tasted good, tasted amazing. There was not a single tater tot left, the four of use devoured a 32 ounce bag of tater tots. If you have not tried seasoned tater tots yet you need to try them and if have tried them you need to try this recipe! 

Seasoned Tater Tots

Ingredients:

  • 32 ounce bag frozen tater tots
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
  • black pepper, to taste

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 425º F. Spray a baking sheet with cooking spray.
  2. Place the frozen tater tots into a large bowl.
  3. Drizzle the olive oil over the tater tots and sprinkle with all of the seasonings. Toss the tater tots until evenly coated in oil and seasonings.
  4. Spread the tater tots into a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. 
  5. Bake for 15-20 minutes.
