A shamrock shake is delicious but a boozy version is even better. The recipe calls for Irish whiskey, but I just used the whiskey I had on hand. I am not a whiskey drinker, so I do not know the differences between the different types of whiskey. I just know that this shake is absolutely delicious and I just might have to make every year for St. Patricks Day.
Boozy Shamrock Shake
Ingredients:
- 2 ounces peppermint schnapps
- 2 1/2 ounces Irish whiskey
- 1/3 cup half and half
- green food coloring
- splash peppermint extract
- 4 cups vanilla ice cream
- whipped cream, for serving (optional)
Directions:
- In a blender add in the schnapps, whiskey, half and half, peppermint extract and ice cream. Blend until smooth.
- Blend in desired amount of food coloring until desired color is achieved.
- Pour into glasses and top with whipped cream if desired.
Enjoy!!!
Notes:
If the shake is too thick add in a splash or two of half and half. If the shake is too thin add in a bit more ice cream.
