I realized the other day that not only have I not made homemade applesauce in awhile, but I did not have a cinnamon applesauce. They only way to fix this is to make some homemade cinnamon applesauce.
Crock pot applesauce is so easy to make and it taste so delicious! My family loves it when I make applesauce, so much so that it never lasts long in the fridge.
This applesauce do not have a lot of cinnamon flavor, it is has a subtle cinnamon flavor. To increase the cinnamon flavor add a bit more ground cinnamon, just be careful not to add too much.
Cinnamon Applesauce
Ingredients:
- 3 pounds red delicious apples
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 cup water
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
Directions:
- Core and chop the apples and place into a crock pot.
- Sprinkle the brown sugar and cinnamon over top of the apples.
- Pour in the water and lemon juice. Stir to mix.
- Cover the crock pot and cook on low for 3-4 hours or until the apples are tender.
- Use an immersion blender to purée the apples.
Enjoy!!!
Notes:
I do not peel my apples when making applesauce, the skin softens enough that when I blend it you would never know the peels are in there.
