Normally I do not make overnight oats until summer time, but I was having a craving for them. I love cherries, they are one of my favorite fruits, so adding some dried ones to my overnight oats was a no brainer. They taste amazing straight out of the bag and in some delicious overnight oats.
Cherry Almond Overnight Oats
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup old fashioned rolled oats
- 1/3 cup non fat Greek yogurt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
- 1-2 tablespoons honey(optional)
- 1/4 cup dried tart cherries
- 1/4 cup sliced almonds, toasted
Directions:
- In a mason jar or other sealable container, add in the oats, milk, Greek yogurt, both extracts and honey if using, stir to mix.
- Add in the cherries and gently stir to mix.
- Seal up the container and refrigerate overnight.
- In the morning add in the almonds and stir to mix.
Enjoy!!!
Notes:
The honey adds a little bit of extra sweetness to the overnight oats. I have made it with and without the honey and both ways are delicious. The nutritional info below does not include honey.
