I have never heard of white barbecue sauce and I had no clue any other barbecue existed, besides the tomato based one. But I can tell you that this sauce is very good and when paired with shredded chicken and in a sandwich with melted cheese and pickled jalapeños and even more delicious white barbecue sauce you have a very delicious sandwich.
White BBQ Chicken Grilled Cheese Sandwich
Ingredients:
White Barbecue Sauce
- 3/4 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons white vinegar
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon horseradish mustard
- 1 tablespoon horseradish
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 teaspoon paprika
- 2 teaspoons coarsely ground black pepper
- cayenne pepper, to taste
Sandwich
- 8 slices bread
- 8 slices munester cheese
- 1 1/3 cups shredded chicken, warm
- 1 tablespoon pickled jalapeños
Directions:
- In a small bowl, whisk together all of the white barbecue sauce ingredients and set aside.
- In a medium bowl stir together the shredded chicken and 1/4 cup white barbecue sauce.
- Spread desired amount of white barbecue sauce onto all 8 slices of bread.
- Top 4 slices of bread with 1 piece of cheese.
- Evenly divide the chicken between the 4 sandwiches and spread out on top of the cheese.
- Top the chicken on each sandwich with desired amount of pickled jalapeños and place remaining slices of cheese on top followed by the other slices of bread.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat.
- Place the sandwiches in the preheat skillet and cook until golden brown, about 2-4 minutes. Flip the sandwiches over and cook on the other side until golden brown, about 2-4 minutes.
