Tuna Macaroni Salad

Tuna macaroni salad is a classic dish. Most people make it with their own preferences and tastes in mind, this is my version. I like plenty of tuna fish in my salad as well as dill pickle relish not sweet. I also like a mixture of mayonnaise and miracle whip. I prefer miracle whip over mayonnaise and that is what I use in my tuna salad, but for this salad I like the mixture of the two.

Tuna Macaroni Salad

Ingredients:

  • 16 ounces elbow pasta
  • 4 hard boiled eggs, peeled and finely chopped
  • 14 ounces canned tuna, drained
  • 1/2 cup finely diced red onion
  • 1/2 cup finely diced celery
  • 3/4 cup dill pickle relish
  • 1/2-1 cup miracle whip
  • 1/-1 cup mayonnaise
  • black pepper, to taste

Directions:

  1. Cook the pasta according to the package directions. Drain and rinse with cold water. Transfer the pasta to a large bowl.
  2. Add the hard boiled eggs, tuna, red onion, celery and relish to the pasta and stir to mix.
  3. Add in 1/2 cup miracle whip, 1/2 cup mayonnaise and black pepper, mix well until everything is coated.
  4. Refrigerate until well chilled.
  5. Mixed well before serving. If pasta is too dry add in equal amounts of miracle whip and mayonnaise until desired consistency is reached.
Enjoy!!!
