I have been wanting to make this syrup for awhile, but never got to it. I wishI had made it sooner, it is so simple to make and does not take a lot of time. Plus it is delicious and will taste great over most any flavor pancake or waffle. I used it on these Raspberry Sour Cream Pancakes and the vanilla flavor paired so well with the raspberry flavor of the pancakes.
Vanilla Syrup
Ingredients:
- 2 cups water
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- In a small pot, bring the water to a boil. Whisk in the sugar and cornstarch and whisk for 3-5 minutes or until thickened.
- Remove the pot from the heat and whisk in the butter and vanilla extract.
- Allow the syrup to cool to warm before serving.
Enjoy!!!
