Deviled Egg Dip

Deviled Egg Dip: Savory Sweet and Satisfying

When I first tried this dip I thought it tasted like egg salad not deviled eggs. But then I got to thinking what exactly is the difference between deviled eggs and egg salad. I came to the conclusion the only difference is really that in deviled eggs the egg whites are left whole and in egg salad the egg whites are chopped. Other than that they both use the same basic ingredients like mayo and mustard.

This dip is delicious served with pita chips and a great way to use up any hard boiled eggs you may have left.

Deviled Egg Dip

Ingredients:

  • 12 hard boiled eggs
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 4 ounces cream cheese
  • 3 tablespoons stone ground mustard
  • 1 tablespoon white wine vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon hot sauce
  • black pepper, to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika

Directions:

  1. Peel the hard boiled eggs and place the yolks in a food processor.
  2. Add half of the egg whites to the food processor and finely chop the other half and place in a medium bowl.
  3. To the food processor, add the mayonnaise, cream cheese, mustard, vinegar and hot sauce. Process until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
  4. Transfer the mixture to the bowl with the egg whites and season with black pepper. Stir everything together.
  5. Transfer the dip to a serving bowl and sprinkle with paprika, if desired, just before serving.
Enjoy!!!
