Firehouse Sausage Chili

Firehouse Sausage Chili: Savory Sweet and Satisfying

The addition of Italian sausage to chili is such a tasty change. My whole family loved it. Plus it is super easy to make. You brown the sausage and then dump everything in a crock pot and let it cook. It does not get much easier than that.

Firehouse Sausage Chili

  • 1 medium yellow onion
  • 15.5 ounce can dark red kidney beans
  • 15.5 ounce can light red kidney beans

  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1/8 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 cups low sodium beef broth

Optional Toppings

  • shredded cheddar cheese
  • sour cream
  • pickles jalapeño slices

Directions:

  1. In a large skillet, over medium heat, brown the sausage.
  2. Drain and fat and transfer the sausage to a crock pot.
  3. Add all of the remaining ingredients to the crock pot and stir to mix.

Enjoy!!!
