Cinnamon Dolce Latte

Cinnamon Latte: Savory Sweet and Satisfying

I am always leery of cinnamon in drinks. I feel it can sometimes overpower a drink and just not taste good at all. I have been eyeing Folgers new Simply Gourmet Natural Cinnamon, I love their caramel and vanilla flavor, but not sure that the cinnamon would taste good. Well after trying this cinnamon latte, with just the right amount of warmth from the homemade cinnamon syrup, I may have to give the cinnamon coffee a try.

Cinnamon Dolce Latte

Ingredients:
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/8 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 cup strong brewed coffee, hot
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1/16 teaspoon cinnamon
Directions:
  1. In a small saucepan, stir together the water, sugar and cinnamon.
  2. Bring the mixture to a boil and let boil for 2 minutes or until the sugar is dissolved.
  3. Remove from the heat and set aside.
  4. In another small saucepan, heat the milk to your desired temperature.
  5. Use a immersion blender to foam the milk or transfer to a blender and blend.
  6. In two mugs at 1 tablespoon cinnamon syrup to each.
  7. Divided the hot coffee evenly between the two mugs and then divide the hot milk.
  8. Top each latte with foam.
  9. In a small bowl, combine the granulated sugar and cinnamon. Sprinkle the mixture on the foam.
