I love trying new meatball recipes. Especially when they are easy to prepare. These meatballs are baked in the oven and then added to a crock pot and coated with a sweet and spicy sauce.
Honey Buffalo Meatballs
Ingredients:
Meatballs
- 2 eggs
- 2 pounds ground turkey
- 22 saltine crackers, crushed
- 1/3 cup dry minced onion
- 1/3 cup milk
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Honey Buffalo Sauce
- 1/2 cup Frrank's Red Hot Original Sauce
- 1/2 cup + 2 tablespoon honey
- 1/2 cup apricot preserves
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup low sodium soy sauce
- 3 tablespoons cornstarch
Directions:
- Preheat the oven to 450º F. Line a baking sheet with foil.
- In a large bowl, gently whisk the eggs. Add in the remaining meatball ingredients and mix until well combined.
- Roll the meat mixture into the desired meatball size and place on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 8 minutes or until lightly browned.
- Meanwhile, in a large bowl whisk together all of the sauce ingredients.
- Once the meatballs are done baking place them in the crock pot and pour the sauce over top.
- Gently stir the meat balls to completely coat in the sauce.
- Cover the crock pot and cook on low for 2 hours, stirring after they have cooked for 1 hour.
