Banana Muffins with Nutella Swirl: Savory Sweet and Satisfying

The standard banana muffin is taken to the next level with a swirl of Nutella on top. Who wouldn't love a delicious swirl on top of their muffin? I know my family and I did!

Banana Muffins with Nutella Swirl

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 4 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted and cooled
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup Nutella

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350º F. Line 18 muffin cups with liners.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda and baking powder.
  3. In a large, with an electric mixer, beat together the bananas and both sugars.
  4. Add in the egg and beat until combined.
  5. With the mixer running slowly pour in the butter.
  6. Beat in the vanilla.
  7. Slowly add the dry ingredients into the wet, mixing just until incorporated.
  8. Evenly divide the batter between the muffin liners, filling about 3/4 full.
  9. Place the Nutella in a microwave safe bowl and heat for about 30 seconds, or until softened up enough for swirling.
  10. Place about a heaping teaspoon of Nutella on top of each muffin and use a knife or toothpick to swirl it into the top of the muffin.
  11. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown on top and an inserted toothpick comes out clean.
  12. Place the muffins on a cooling rack and allow to cool.
Enjoy!!!
