Garlic Bread

Garlic Bread: Savory Sweet and Satisfying

My husband request a meal of spaghetti, garlic bread and salad. As I was planning the meal, I went looking for a garlic bread recipe and I realized all of my recipes were cheesy garlic bread. I was quite surprised that I did not have one, but then again I do love my cheesy breads, so maybe not that big of a surprise.

Garlic Bread: Savory Sweet and Satisfying

So with a quick search of Pinterest I found a recipe that seemed like it would be a great choice. After one bite I knew it was a great choice. The bread was crispy, with great garlic and butter flavor.

Garlic Bread

Ingredients:

  • 1 loaf French bread, about 16 ounces
  • 2 teaspoon olive oil
  • 1 heaping tablespoon minced garlic, about 4 cloves
  • 8 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • grated parmesan cheese, to taste
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350º F.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a small skillet, over medium heat. Add in the minced garlic and sauté until the garlic begins to soften and you can smell it. Watch the garlic carefully so it does not brown or burn and stir often.
  3. In a small bowl combine the softened butter and garlic mix, until well mixed.
  4. Cut the French bread in half lengthwise and evenly spread the garlic butter mixture on the cut side of both halves. Sprinkle with dried parsley and desired amount of parmesan cheese.
  5. Put the two cut sides back together into a loaf and bake directly on the top rack for about 7 minutes. Open up the garlic bread and place directly on the rack with the cut side facing up and broil for about 5 minutes or until the bread gets lightly brown and crispy. Watch carefully because the bread and garlic can easily burn.
  6. Remove from the oven and slice.
Enjoy!!!
