- 1/2 cup low sodium chicken broth
- 1 tablespoon sriracha hot sauce
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 2 cups shredded Mexican cheese blend
Cooking Directions
- In a medium pot, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Once the butter has melted whisk in the flour and continue to whisk for 1-2 minutes or until the mixture has a light brown color to it and has formed a smooth paste.
- Very slowly pour in the milk while whisking constantly.
- Once all of the milk has been whisked in and the mixture is smooth, whisk in the chicken broth, sriracha and chili powder.
- Bring the mixture to a simmer, whisking very often and simmer until the mixture has thickened.
- Turn the heat down to medium low and stir in the cheese. Continue to stir constantly until the cheese is completely melted and sauce is smooth.
- If the mixture has become too thick stir in a little bit more milk.
