Spicy Italian Crescent Ring

My husband will occasionally mention to me that I should have this blog be a low sodium blog, where all of the recipes are low in sodium. Since hypertension or high blood pressure affect so many people. But I could never do that because then I could not share delicious foods like this Spicy Italian Crescent Ring.

Then do two blogs he says so you can share the other recipes. Two blogs?! I can hardly keep up with one blog, working full time, kids school work and other school stuff, plus their activities and my activities. No way I could handle two blogs! One is enough for me!

Spicy Italian Crescent Ring

Ingredients:

  • 2- 8 ounce cans refrigerated crescent dinner rolls
  • 1/2 cup roasted red peppers, well drained
  • 8 slices provolone cheese, halved
  • 1/3 pound sliced salami
  • 1/4 pound sliced ham
  • 1/4 pound sliced capocollo
  • 1/2 cup banana peppers rings, well drained
  • fresh cracked black pepper

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375º F.
  2. Unroll both cans of dough. Separate each can into 4 rectangles and lightly press together the seams that would separate the rectangles into triangles.
  3. On an ungreased pizza pan or large baking sheet, place the rectangles into a ring with the short sides of the rectangle forming a circle in the middle. Dough will over hang the edge of the pan and that is okay. See picture above.
  4. Spread the roasted red peppers on the bottom half of the dough towards the center of the ring. Place half of the cheese on top. Then layer on the salami, ham and capocollo. Place the banana peppers on next and then top with the remaining cheese.
  5. Bring the ends of the dough, the parts that hang over the pan, over top of the filling and tuck under the dough in the middle of the ring. Continue until all the dough has been folded over and tucked under. Season with fresh cracked black pepper.
  6. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until the dough is golden brown and completely baked. Cool for 5-10 minutes before cutting and serving.
Enjoy!!!
