My husband and I did not feel that this chili was overly spicy. We definitely tasted the spiciness of it, but it was not too overpowering. If you find that this chili is a bit spicy for you, try topping it with some shredded cheddar cheese and sour cream.
Hot and Spicy Crock Pot Chili
Ingredients:
- 1 pound ground turkey
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 1 medium yellow onion, diced
- 2 teaspoons chili powder
- 2 teaspoons chipotle chili powder
- 2 teaspoons cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon ground red pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 15 ounces no salt added tomato sauce
- 30 ounces low sodium chicken stock
- 1- 14.5 ounce can fire roasted diced tomatoes
- 2- 15.5 ounce low sodium kidney beans, rinsed and drained
Directions:
- In a large skillet cook ground turkey until done. Drain and add to a crock pot.
- Melt butter in the skillet and add in the onions, cooking until soft about 5 minutes. Add to crock pot.
- Add in all of the remaining ingredients and stir well. Cook on high for 4 hours.
