I have never made a soufflé or even tried one, so I am not sure exactly how this dish relates to a traditional soufflé. What I can tell you is the texture of this dish is light and airy, unlike any other breakfast dish I have made. Definitely worth making.
Sausage Brunch Soufflé
Ingredients:
- 16 ounce roll breakfast sausage
- 6 slices pre-sliced white bread, cubed
- 6 eggs
- 2 cups milk
- 1 tablespoon dry mustard
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350º F. Spray a 11x7 inch baking dish with cooking spray.
- In a large skillet brown the sausage and drain.
- Place bread cubes in baking dish.
- In a large mixing bowl whisk together the eggs, milk and mustard. Add in sausage and pour over bread cubes.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes or until lightly browned and mixture is set.
