These breadsticks are crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. In my opinion just the way a breadstick should be.
The nutritional information on these breadsticks it is an estimate. I forgot to count how many breadsticks it made, so I made an educated guess.
Bread Machine Breadsticks
Ingredients:
- 1 1/3 cups water
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 1 1/2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 4 cups bread flour
- 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
Glaze
- 1 egg white
- 1 tablespoon water
Topping
- garlic Powder
Directions:
- Place the above ingredients in your bread machine in the order suggested by your bread machine. Turn on your bread machine and use the dough cycle.
- When dough cycle is complete, cut off egg sized pieces and roll into a rope. Place on a greased baking sheet. Cover with a clean kitchen towel and let rise for 20 minutes.
- Preheat oven for 400º F.
- When rise time is over mix the egg white and water together. Brush each breadstick with the glaze and sprinkle with garlic powder.
- Bake for 10-15 minutes. or until golden brown.
Notes:
The shorter the baking time the softer the breadsticks. The longer the bake time the crunchier the breadsticks.
