I like Red Lobster, not for the seafood, because quite frankly I hate seafood and fish, but for the biscuits. I love Red Lobster's Cheddar Bay Biscuits, they are beyond delicious.
This homemade version is the best one I have tried. To make it even better it does not call for any prepackaged baking mix and is super easy to make.
If you are a fan of Red Lobster's biscuits then this recipe is for you.
Homemade Red Lobster Cheddar Bay Biscuits
Ingredients:
Biscuits
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 4 ounces sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1 cup buttermilk, cold
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted and cooled for 5 minutes
Topping
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon dried parsley
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 475º F. Line a baking sheet with a silpat or parchment paper. Set aside.
- In a large bowl whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, sugar, garlic powder and cayenne pepper. Stir in cheddar cheese.
- In a medium bowl combine the buttermilk and the melted butter. Stir until the butter forms small clumps.
- Add the buttermilk to the flour mixture and using a rubber spatula, gently mix just until the dough comes together and there are no more dry ingredients visible.
- Using a greased 1/4 cup measuring cup, scoop out the dough and place on prepared baking sheet leaving just over an inch between biscuits.
- Bake for about 12 minutes or until the biscuits are golden brown.
- While the biscuits are baking, combine the melted butter, garlic powder and parsley.
- \When the biscuits are done immediately brush with them with the butter topping mixture.
- Allow biscuits to cool for about 5 minutes.
Enjoy!!!
