Do you like s'mores? Do you like ice cream? Then you will love this delicious combination. All the yummy goodness of s'mores in a creamy ice cream.
The key to this ice cream is toasting the marshmallows. I was surprised at how well I could taste the toasted marshmallows in this ice cream.
S'mores Ice Cream
Ingredients:
- 12 large marshmallows
- 2 cups half and half
- 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 6 whole graham crackers, crumbled
- 1 large Hershey bar, chopped
Directions:
- Place a silpat on a baking sheet and place marshmallows on the silpat. Place the marshmallows under the broiler for about 3 minutes or until marshmallows are toasted (watch them carefully so they do not burn). Remove from oven and cool.
- In a large bowl combine the milk, heavy cream, sugar and vanilla. Mix until the sugar is dissolved. Pour into your ice cream maker and churn according to directions.
- When ice cream is almost done, about 5 minutes left, add in the graham crackers and chocolate. Tear the marshmallows into pieces and add in as well. Let the ice cream finish churning. Scoop into a freezer safe container and freeze.
