My obsession with the flavors of a jalapeño popper continues. This time it is in macaroni and cheese. A cheesy, creamy and slightly spicy macaroni and cheese. This dish is so delicious and totally worth making. It is a perfect comfort dish.

Jalapeño Popper Macaroni and Cheese
Ingredients:
- 1/2 pound turkey bacon
- 16 ounces cavatappi pasta
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 large jalapeños, finely diced
- 1/4 cup all purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 3 cups fat free milk
- 4 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- 5 ounces reduced fat cream cheese
- 1 cup bread crumbs
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
Directions:
- Cook bacon your desired way until crispy.
- Preheat oven to 350º F. Lightly grease a 9x13 baking dish.
- Cook pasta according to package directions and drain well.
- While the pasta is cooking, melt 4 tablespoons butter in a large saucepan over medium heat.
- Add jalapeños and cook for 3 minutes or until the jalapeños are slightly softened.
- Stir in pepper and Worcestershire sauce until the mixture is smooth and bubbly.
- Slowly add in the milk stirring constantly until slightly thickened about 1 minute.
- Stir in cheddar cheese and cream cheese until melted and smooth.
- Add the bacon and noodles to the cheese sauce and mix. Transfer to the prepared dish.
- Combine the 3 tablespoons melted butter and bread crumbs. Sprinkle evenly over the top of the macaroni and cheese.
- Bake for 20 minutes or until the bread crumbs are slightly browned.
