I had bought a bunch of apples, like Costco 10 pound bag of apples. All because my family said they wanted apples to eat. Well, the apples sat in the fridge with very few being eaten. So I decided that I needed to make something that would use up the apples and that is when I asked my girls if they wanted to make applesauce. They looked at me like I was crazy. They could not believe that you could make applesauce at home.
Since I like to cook from a recipe I decided to google one so I would get the right ratio of apples to water, sugar and cinnamon. That is when I discovered a recipe for strawberry applesauce and thankfully I had some frozen strawberries in the freezer, so I could make it.
This applesauce turned of delicious and the whole family loved it. Plus my girls loved checking on the crock pot to see the apple cook down into applesauce.
