Stuffed Crust Pizza

Stuffed Crust Pizza: Savory Sweet and Satisfying

I have always loved stuffed crust pizza, it was always my first choice when ordering a pizza. Now that I make my own pizza I had not had a stuffed crust in a while and it occurred to me one day that all I would have to do it fold the crust over pieces of string cheese. So I decided to try it and turns out it works and tastes just like my favorite stuffed crust pizza.

The best part of making a stuffed crust pizza at home it that you can use any variety of sting cheese. I used a jalapeƱo string cheese for my crust and loved the added spiciness the cheese added to the crust.

Stuffed Crust Pizza

  • 1 ball of pizza dough, about 16 ounces
  • 1 bag string cheese
  • pizza saue
  • shredded mozzarella cheese
  • pizza toppings of your choice

  1. Roll out the pizza dough to desired thickness.
  2. Lay one string cheese on the edge of the dough and fold the dough over the string cheese pressing the dough down sealing in the cheese stick. Place anther string cheese down on the edge of the crust touching the first string cheese. Fold the dough over the string cheese pressing the dough down sealing in the cheese stick. Continue this process until the entire crust has been stuffed with cheese sticks, cutting the cheese sticks as needed to form the entire crust.
  3. Spread on your desired amount of pizza sauce and sprinkle on your desired amount of mozzarella cheese. Top with your favorite pizza toppings.
  4. Bake the pizza according to the pizza dough directions.

I have not included nutritional information for this recipe because the information will vary to much depending on how much string cheese you need and the type of toppings you use.
