Hash Brown Waffles

Waffle Hash Browns: Savory Sweet and Satisfying

I do not know about you but I have seen this idea of cooking hash browns in a waffle iron over and over again not only on Pinterest but Facebook as well. So one morning when my husband volunteered to make breakfast, I volunteered to make the hash browns using a waffle iron.

I enjoyed making the hash browns this way. They crisped up very nicely and I only had to check on them once or twice while cooking, versus standing over a hot skillet for most of the cooking time.

Waffle Hash Browns

Ingredients:

  • frozen shredded hash brown
  • olive oil

Directions:

  1. Preheat waffle iron.
  2. Brush both top and bottom plates of the waffle iron with olive oil.
  3. Place frozen shredded hash brown on the bottom plate in a even layer covering the entire plate, season potatoes if desired.
  4. Close lid and cook for 10-20 minutes or until desired crispiness is reached.
Enjoy!!!

Notes:
You can use fresh potatoes instead of frozen. Rinse the potatoes and shred them. Squeeze the moisture out of the shredded potatoes with either a paper towel or clean kitchen towel, then continue with directions above. Do not shed the potatoes too soon before you cook them or they will turn brown. Or shred them and keep them in a bowl of cold water to prevent them from turning brown.
