Cheddar Ham Pasta

Cheddar Ham Pasta: Savory Sweet and Satisfying

A flavorful dish with a nice creamy cheese sauce. It is like a mac and cheese with ham and tomatoes.

Cheddar Ham Pasta

Ingredients:

  • 12 ounces rotini pasta
  • 1- 14 1/2 ounce can diced tomatoes with garlic and onion
  • milk
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons all purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 1/2 cups diced cooked ham

Directions:

  1. Cook pasta according to package directions and drain.
  2. Drain tomatoes, saving the liquid. Add enough milk to the tomato liquid to make 2 cups all together.
  3. Melt the butter in a large saucepan over low heat. Stir in flour and basil and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, for 3 minutes.
  4. Stir in milk mixture and cook until thickened, about 3 minutes, stirring constantly. Add in cheese and stir until it melts.
  5. Stir in tomatoes, ham and pasta, cooking until completely heated.
Enjoy!!!
