Tex-Mex Bacon Cheeseburger

Tex-Mex Bacon Cheeseburger: Savory Sweet and Satisfying

A burger patty topped with a queso sauce, bacon, tomato and pickled jalapeños seems like that would be enough for a great burger. But it is not just a plain old burger patty, the burger is mixed with bacon, onion, garlic, chipotles in adobo sauce and Worcestershire.  Now this is one loaded and delicious burger.

Tex-Mex Bacon Cheeseburger



  • 8 slices turkey bacon
  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 4 tablespoons grated onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons pureed chipotle in adobo sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

Queso Sauce

  • 3 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons all purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 14 ounce can diced tomatoes with green chilies, well drained


  • 4 hamburger buns
  • tomato slices
  • pickled jalapeños


  1. Cook bacon your desired way until crispy. Leave 4 slices whole and crumble 4 slices.
  2. In a large bowl combine ground turkey, crumbled bacon, grated onion, minced garlic, pureed chipotle peppers and Worcestershire sauce. Mix just until everything is combined.
  3. Form into 4 patties and cook your desired way.
  4. While the burgers are cooking, melt the butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat.
  5. Whisk in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes.
  6. Slowly whisk in the milk and cook stirring constantly until the mixture as thickened slightly.
  7. Add in the cheese and stir until completely melted.
  8. Stir in the drained tomatoes and remove from heat.
  9. Place a burger on the bottom half of a hamburger bun and top with desired amount of queso sauce.
  10. Top with one slice of bacon, tomato slices and pickled jalapeños.
  11. Place top half of bun on top.
