Cheese and Bacon Pasta

Cheese and Bacon Pasta: Savory Sweet and Satisfying

I have a bad habit when it comes to picking recipes. I tend to look at the picture, then the title and then the ingredient list and that is it. I usually do not look at the directions until I have decided to make the dish and have bought all of the ingredients. Thankfully this side dish is easy to make and a great addition to any meal.

Cheese and Bacon Pasta

Ingredients:

  • 12 ounces penne pasta
  • 8 ounces turkey bacon
  • 1 cup whipping cream
  • 2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 teaspoon dijon mustard
  • black pepper

Directions:

  1. Cook pasta according to directions and drain.
  2. While pasta is cooking cook turkey bacon. Drain on a paper towel and crumble.
  3. When pasta is about halfway done cooking heat cream in a medium saucepan. When hot (but not boiling) reduce heat to low and slowly add cheese and stir until it is melted and smooth.
  4. Add dijon mustard and pepper.
  5. Add pasta to cheese sauce, stirring to combine.
  6. Top with bacon and stir.
Enjoy!!!
