Easy Authentic Pizza Sauce

I have tried numerous pizza sauce recipes over the years and this one is by far the best one I have tried. It is now my go to pizza sauce recipe.

It does have a subtle kick to it, but you can always reduce the amount if you do not want as much spice to it. This sauce can be stored in the refrigerator  for 3 weeks, or you can freeze it.

Easy Authentic Pizza Sauce
4 teaspoons olive oil
4 gloves garlic, minced
1 3/4 teaspoons onion powder
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
3/4 teaspoon dried basil
3/4 teaspoon dried oregano
5 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon brown sugar
2- 8 ounce cans tomato sauce
4 tablespoons tomato paste
2/3 cup warm water
1/8 teaspoon black pepper

In a small saucepan over medium heat add the olive oil and heat it up. Add the garlic and stir it around a few times then quickly add onion powder, red pepper, basil and oregano. Stir a few times add parmesan cheese, brown sugar and then quickly add the tomato sauce, tomato paste and warm water. Stir to combine and then bring to a light boil. Turn heat down to low, add black pepper and simmer for 1-2 hours, stirring occasionally.
