Creamy Sausage and Tomato Pasta

Savory Sweet and Satisfying: Creamy Sausage and Tomato Pasta

When I go to write about a recipe sometimes not much comes to mind, but something short sweet and simple. This leads me to spend more time then needed to try and come up with more to say, for some unknown reason I feel the need to write more than a few sentences.

I have always had the tendency to over think things and over complicate things, just ask my husband. So in an effort to not spend hours over thinking what to write. I am going to say what originally popped into my head.

Savory Sweet and Satisfying: Creamy Sausage and Tomato Pasta

This dinner is easy to make and very delicious! Sausage, tomatoes, pasta and some other yummy ingredients, nothing but goodness. So why not give it a try?

Creamy Sausage and Tomato Pasta
Ingredients:
1 pound Italian sausage
1 medium onion, chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
1- 16 ounce can Italian-style diced tomatoes
1- 8 ounce can tomato sauce
1 cup half and half
1 teaspoon dried basil leaves
12 ounces penne pasta

Directions:
Cook pasta according to directions until al dente and drain.

While pasta is cooking, remove the casings from the sausage, cook and crumbled the sausage. Once sausage is completely cooked add the onion and garlic and cook for a few minutes. Add in the canned tomatoes and tomato sauce and heat through.

Add in the half and half and bring to a simmer. Continue to simmer until you reach the consistency you want. The longer you cook the sauce the thicker it will get.

Add in the basil and continue to simmer for a few minutes. Combine the sausage and the pasta.

Enjoy!!!
