Cheesy Taco Pasta

Cheesy Taco Pasta: Savory Sweet and Satisfying

The absolute last thing I look forward to doing after a long day of work is cooking dinner. That is why I am always looking for simple and easy dinners that of course taste delicious.

Cheesy Taco Pasta: Savory Sweet and Satisfying

This dinner fits with what I need for a weeknight perfectly. It is delicious, easy and quick to prepare. In less than 30 minutes this pasta will be ready to eat.

Cheesy Taco Pasta: Savory Sweet and Satisfying

Besides being easy to make, this pasta is easy to customize. You can use your favorite ground meat and your favorite salsa to change up the flavor. Next time I think I might use salsa verde instead of the red salsa I used this time.

Cheesy Taco Pasta

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 1 1/2 cups salsa
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 8 ounces penne or rotini pasta
  • 8 ounces cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1/4 cup half and half
  • black pepper, to taste

Directions:

  1. Cook the pasta according to the package directions until al dente. Drain well.
  2. Meanwhile, in a large skillet, over medium high heat, cook and crumble the ground turkey until completely cooked. Drain a liquid in the skillet.
  3. To the skillet, add in the taco seasoning, salsa and water. Stir to combine and simmer until the liquid has been absorbed.
  4. Once the pasta is done, add it into the skillet and stir until well coated. Add in the cheese and half and half. Stir until the cheese has melted. Season with black pepper.
Enjoy!!!
