Cowboy Lasagna

Cowboy Lasagna: Savory Sweet and Satisfying

Cowboy lasagna is an interesting name for this delicious lasagna filled with three different types of meat. Maybe the name is because of how much meat is packed into this lasagna. No matter what the name is or how it got it's name, this lasagna is super delicious and filled with meat and cheese.

Cowboy Lasagna

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1 pound italian sausage
  • 2-24 ounce jars traditional pasta sauce
  • 12 lasagna noodles
  • 2-12 ounces sliced pepperoni
  • 4 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 8 ounces ricotta cheese
  • 4 ounces shredded parmesan cheese

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350ยบ F.
  2. Cook the lasagna noodles according to the package directions and drain. Spray a baking sheet with cooking spray and lay the noodles down without them touching, or place the noodles on silpats without them touching.
  3. In a large skillet, over medium heat, cook the ground turkey and Italian sausage until it is completely cooked and crumbled.
  4. Place a 9x13 baking dish on a baking sheet and cover the bottom of the baking dish with a thin layer of pasta sauce.
  5. In the baking dish place 3 lasagna noodles, 1/3 of the pasta sauce, 1/3 of the browned meats, 1/3 of the pepperoni, 1/3 of the mozzarella, 1/3 of the ricotta and 1/3 of the parmesan cheese. Repeat the layers two more times.
  6. Place the baking sheet with the baking dish into the oven on the middle rack and bake for 45-55 minutes or until heated through and bubbly with the cheese starting to brown.
