Oh boy is this a great combination. I wish I had tried it sooner. When you bite into the burger the yolk starts to run and you get the flavor of the maple bacon, cheese and burger. Mmmm, I think I need to make this burger again real soon!
Bacon and Egg Burger
Ingredients:
- 4 slices turkey bacon
- 4 teaspoons real maple syrup
- 1 pound ground turkey
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tablespoons grated onion
- 4 teaspoons coarse ground dijon mustard
- black pepper, to taste
- 4 slices cheddar cheese
- 4 eggs
- 4 hamburger buns
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 400º F. Cover a baking sheet in foil and place bacon on top. Bake for 5-10 minutes or until almost done.
- Remove baking sheet and drizzle 1 teaspoon of maple syrup over each piece of bacon. Return to oven and cook for about another 5 minutes or until bacon has reached desired crispiness.
- In a large bowl combine the ground turkey, Worcestershire sauce, grated onion, dijon mustard and black pepper. Form into 4 patties and cook your desired way.
- When patties are almost done place one piece of cheese on top of each patty and continue cooking until cheese is melted and patty is cooked.
- While the patties are cooking, cook your eggs in a non stick skillet until cooked but still has a running yolk.
- Toast the hamburger buns, then top the bottom bun with a patty, then an egg, then the bacon and finally the top bun.
