Black Forest Coffee or Latte

Black Forest Coffee or Latte: Savory Sweet and Satisfying

The flavors of a black forest cake are now in a delicious coffee or latte. Both versions are easy to make and taste delicious.

Black Forest Coffee

Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon chocolate syrup
  • 2 tablespoons maraschino cherry juice
  • 1 cup hot brewed coffee

Directions:

  1. In a large mug combine the chocolate syrup and cherry juice until well mixed.
  2. Pour in the hot coffee and mix well.

Black Forest Latte

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon chocolate syrup
  • 2 tablespoons maraschino cherry juice
  • 3/4 cup strong brewed coffee
  • whipped cream
  • chocolate sauce
  • maraschino cherry

Directions:

  1. In a small pot combine the milk, chocolate sauce and cherry juice. Heat over medium low heat, stirring often, until the milk mixture is hot, but not boiling.
  2. Remove the mixture from the heat and blend with an immersion blender until mixture is frothy, or transfer mixture to a blender and blend until frothy. Pour this mixture into a large mug.
  3. Carefully pour the hot coffee into the mug as close to the edge of the mug as possible so you do not disturb the foam on top.
  4. Top with whipped cream, a drizzle of chocolate sauce and a maraschino cherry if desired.

Notes:
You can play around with how much cherry juice and chocolate syrup you add. I wanted to make sure I could taste the cherry juice so I added more, but you can easily adjust the amounts to suit your tastes.
