One Pot Cheesy Pasta and Sausage

One Pot Cheesy Pasta and Sausage: Savory Sweet and Satisfying

I am fairly certain that I have made several dishes similar to this one. But anytime I see a dish that has pasta and sausage it grabs my attention. Plus I know that it will be a dish that my youngest will eat since she loves sausage and enjoys pasta.

I have to say I was surprised that this dish has sort of a creamy sauce to it, when the only liquid in it is water. But after cooking the pasta there is a little bit of water left and when you add the cheese and keep stirring until no lumps remain, it turns into a bit of a creamy sauce, delicious.

One Pot Cheesy Pasta and Sausage

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups halved grape tomatoes, divided
  • 1 pound smoked sausage, sliced
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 pound linguine noodles, uncooked
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 4 1/2 cups water
  • 1 cup shredded parmesan cheese

Directions:

  1. Reserve 1 cup halved tomatoes.
  2. In a large skillet add the remaining tomatoes, sausage, garlic, linguine, black pepper and water.
  3. Bring the mixture to a boil, over high heat. Once the mixture is boiling, cook for 7-9 minutes or until the pasta is cooked to al dente.
  4. While the pasta is cooking, occasionally stir to toss the mixture to prevent the pasta from sticking.
  5. Add in the cheese and stir or toss to combine and melt the cheese. Keep stirring or tossing until the cheese has melted and is no longer clumpy.
  6. Add the reserved tomatoes and gently toss to combine.
Enjoy!!!
