My husband and I are big fans of a banana split. So much so that I have often though about making them at home for us to enjoy. But then I realize I would need to make three batches of ice cream, strawberry, chocolate, vanilla and have them all ready to go in the freezer. With each ice cream taking at least 5 hours to be ready plus letting the ice cream maker insert refreeze, it would take me 4 days before I could make the banana split. For me that is too long to wait for a delicious banana split. So I decided to create a banana split ice cream that incorporates all of the things we love about a banana split in one ice cream.
