Brown Sugar and Bacon Green Beans

Savory Sweet and Satisfying: Brown Sugar and Bacon Green Beans

These green beans makes it so easy to eat your vegetables, because they are so very delicious. That is because the brown sugar makes them sweet and of course everything tastes better with bacon.

Brown Sugar and Bacon Green Beans

Ingredients:

  • 16 ounces fresh green beans
  • 6 slices turkey bacon
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup light brown sugar

Directions:

  1. In a large skillet fry the bacon until crisp. Remove bacon, cool and crumble. Drain grease from skillet if needed.
  2. Melt butter in skillet, over medium heat, and add brown sugar. Cook, stirring occasionally until sugar is dissolved.
  3. Meanwhile, fill a medium pot half full of water and bring to a full boil.
  4. Add in green beans and reduce heat to a gentle simmer. Cook green beans for about 5 minutes or until tender crisp. Drain green beans.
  5. In a large bowl combine the green beans, brown sugar and bacon.
