Italian Meatballs

What is better than spaghetti and meatballs? Spaghetti and meatballs stuffed with cheese.  Cutting into these meatballs and seeing the yummy cheese ooze out, mmm delicious.

Italian Meatballs: Savory Sweet and Satisfying

Cooking meatballs in the oven is my favorite way to cook meatballs. It is so easy and they turn out perfect every time. So much better than cooking them in skillet.

Italian Meatballs

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs
  • 2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 28 ounces spaghetti sauce
  • 3 ounces block mozzarella cheese, cut into 16 cubes
  • 8 ounces spaghetti noodles

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400ยบ F. Spray a rimmed baking sheet with cooking spray. Set aside.
  2. In a large mixing bowl combine ground turkey, bread crumbs, Italian seasoning, egg and 1/4 cup of spaghetti sauce. Mix lightly.
  3. Shape a small amount of mixture around each piece of cheese, completely enclosing the cheese, making 16 meatballs. Place on prepared baking sheet and bake for 18-20 minutes.
  4. Cook spaghetti noodles according to directions and drain.
  5. Heat remaining spaghetti sauce. Add meatballs and serve over pasta.
Enjoy!!!
