Cincinnati Chili with Pasta

Cincinnati Chili with Pasta: Savory Sweet and Satisfying

I had no idea what Cincinnati chili was when I made this dish so I decided to Google it. According to Wikipedia "Cincinnati chili is a regional style of chili con carne characterized by the use of seasonings such as cinnamon, cloves, allspice or chocolate.".

I am not sure that this recipes qualifies as Cincinnati chili according to the above definition, but I will say that this dish is delicious. It is a combination of chili and spaghetti. a delicious combination.

Cincinnati Chili with Pasta

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound spaghetti noodles
  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1 cup yellow onion, chopped
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 28 ounces spaghetti sauce with mushrooms
  • 16 ounce can low sodium kidney beans
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded

Directions:

  1. Cook spaghetti according to package directions and drain.
  2. While pasta is cooking brown ground turkey and onion in a large skillet. Drain, if needed.
  3. Add in chili powder, stirring to combine.
  4. Add in spaghetti sauce and kidney beans.
  5. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for 10-15 minutes.
  6. Toss with pasta and sprinkle with cheese.
