Bacon and Egg Burger

Savory Sweet and Satisfying: Bacon and Egg Burger

Have you ever had an egg on a burger before? I never had until I made this burger. I had heard about it and had seen it on cooking shows, but never tried it until I found this recipe and decided it was time to try this crazy combination.

Oh boy is this a great combination. I wish I had tried it sooner. When you bite into the burger the yolk starts to run and you get the flavor of the maple bacon, cheese and burger. Mmmm, I think I need to make this burger again real soon!

Bacon and Egg Burger

Ingredients:

  • 4 slices turkey bacon
  • 4 teaspoons real maple syrup
  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons grated onion
  • 4 teaspoons coarse ground dijon mustard
  • black pepper, to taste
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese
  • 4 eggs
  • 4 hamburger buns

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400º F. Cover a baking sheet in foil and place bacon on top. Bake for 5-10 minutes or until almost done.
  2. Remove baking sheet and drizzle 1 teaspoon of maple syrup over each piece of bacon. Return to oven and cook for about another 5 minutes or until bacon has reached desired crispiness.
  3. In a large bowl combine the ground turkey, Worcestershire sauce, grated onion, dijon mustard and black pepper. Form into 4 patties and cook your desired way.
  4. When patties are almost done place one piece of cheese on top of each patty and continue cooking until cheese is melted and patty is cooked.
  5. While the patties are cooking, cook your eggs in a non stick skillet until cooked but still has a running yolk.
  6. Toast the hamburger buns, then top the bottom bun with a patty, then an egg, then the bacon and finally the top bun.
Enjoy!!!
